Medical bankrupcy despite health insurace

The Nation has a depressing story about the many middle-class people who take large debts, and often end up in bankrupcy, in order to pay their medical bills. Many of those people have health insurance, but the deductables and co-payments are massive.

It's depressing, and it's one more reason why this country needs single-payer health care.

I am in that situation right now! We had a $250 deductible when I got pregnant, and 4 months into the pregancy my husbands insurance changed policies and we noe have a $2500 deductible for each member of the family and a $2500 cap before they pay 100% so as of right now we are looking upwardsof $10,000!
